Andrew M. Cuomo Takes The Race With Ease
NEW YORK – Andrew M. Cuomo, New York's attorney general, won a big victory Tuesday over Carl Paladino, a millionaire Buffalo developer, according to The New York Times. Cuomo was running comfortably ahead in a race that nearly everyone expected him to win handily.
Born and bred in politics, Cuomo inherits the mantle and liberal political legacy of his father, Mario M. Cuomo, the 52nd governor of New York, who at one time entertained the idea of running for president but never did.
Andy Cuomo, 52, is widely regarded as New York's most popular politician. His personal life, which he strives to keep private, has nevertheless become glamorously public with his long-term relationship with the celebrated chef and TV personality Sandra Lee, 43, host of the Food Network show "Semi-Homemade."
Cuomo's life today is a far cry from his life in 2002 and 2003, when he endured political defeat (a failed run for governor) and the brutal end of his 13-year marriage to Kerry Kennedy.
Cuomo's life today is a far cry from his life in 2002 and 2003, when he endured political defeat (a failed run for governor) and the brutal end of his 13-year marriage to Kerry Kennedy.
Though he seems to have been in politics since birth, Cuomo's political career began while chairing the transition committee for his father after the elder Cuomo's election as governor. It was at that time that the young Cuomo's abrasive personality became an issue, alienating people in and out of the party.
After a stint as President Clinton's Housing and Urban Development secretary and a failed run for governor in 2002, he didn't run for office until 2007, when he won the state's attorney general's job. In that role, he seems to have tamped down his reputation as brassy, secretive and manipulative.
His opponent in this race, Carl Pasquale Paladino, known for his "mad as hell" slogan and his rants and rages, is a 64-year-old anti-abortion businessman who distinguished himself in the past months by antagonizing or offending constituents and the media.
He denigrated gays (in a state were 58 percent of the residents favor same-sex marriage), tongue-lashing Cuomo for taking his teenage daughters to a gay pride parade, where, Paladino said, men wear "little Speedos and grind against each other." Those remarks came soon after he told a group of Orthodox Jewish leaders in Brooklyn that he didn't want children "brainwashed" into thinking that homosexuality was an acceptable way of living.
Along the campaign trail, Paladino, who had tea party backing, promised "to take a bat" to the legislature in Albany and vouched less government, less taxes and less spending, all standard conservative positions. But he peppered his campaign with distractions. He picked a fight with a well-known New York Post columnist, accusing him and the newspaper of harassing the 10-year-old daughter Paladino fathered during an extramarital affair. He also admitted forwarding pornographic and racially degrading e-mails to friends.
New York had rarely seen the likes of Paladino. And the polls showed that his brand of politics did not suit the majority of the state's voters. By mid-October, the Quinnipiac University poll showed Cuomo opening an 18 percentage point lead over Paladino.
It seemed then that Paladino was done, and a new Cuomo era was about to begin.

THE NEW BIN LADEN?
Anwar al-Awlaki (also spelled Aulaqi; Arabic: أنور العولقي Anwar al-‘AwlaqÄ«; born April 22, 1971 (age 39) in Las Cruces, New Mexico) is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Yemen, and of Yemeni descent.[9] He is an Islamic lecturer, spiritual leader, and former imam who has purportedly inspired Islamic terrorists against the West and, according to U.S. government officials, also become “operational” as a senior talent recruiter, motivator, and participant in planning and training "for al-Qaeda and all of its franchises".[3][7][10][11][12][13] The U.S. Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence warned that al-Awlaki "is extraordinarily dangerous, committed to carrying out deadly attacks on Americans and others worldwide".[6] With a blog, a Facebook page, and many YouTube videos, he has been described as the "bin Laden of the Internet".[14][15]
Al-Awlaki's sermons were attended by three of the 9/11 hijackers. He reportedly met privately with at least two of them in San Diego, and one moved from there to Falls Church, Virginia, as al-Awlaki moved.[16][17] Investigators suspect al-Awlaki may have known about the 9/11 attacks in advance.[16] In 2009, unnamed U.S. officials said he was promoted to the rank of "regional commander" within al-Qaeda.[4][18]
His sermons were also attended by accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. In addition, U.S. intelligence intercepted at least 18 emails between Hasan and al-Awlaki from December 2008 to June 2009, including one in which Hasan wrote: "I can't wait to join you [in the afterlife]."[19][20] After the Fort Hood shooting, al-Awlaki praised Hasan's actions.[21][22] In addition, "Christmas Day bomber" Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab said al-Awlaki was one of his al-Qaeda trainers, meeting with him and involved in planning or preparing the attack, and provided religious justification for it, according to unnamed U.S. intelligence officials.[23][24][25] In March 2010, al‑Awlaki said in a videotape delivered to CNN that jihad against America was binding upon himself and every other able Muslim.[26][27]
U.S. President Barack Obama approved the targeted killing of al-Awlaki by April 2010, making al-Awlaki the first U.S. citizen ever placed on the CIA target list. That required the consent of the U.S. National Security Council, and officials said it was appropriate for an individual who posed an imminent danger to national security.[28][29][30][31] In May 2010, Faisal Shahzad, who pleaded guilty to the 2010 Times Square car bombing attempt, told interrogators he was "inspired by" al-Awlaki, and sources said Shahzad had made contact with al-Awlaki over the internet.[32][33][34] Representative Jane Harman called him "terrorist number one", and Investor's Business Daily called him "the world's most dangerous man".[35][36] In July 2010, the U.S. Treasury Department added him to its list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists, and the UN added him to its list of individuals associated with al-Qaeda.[5][37] In August 2010, al-Awlaki's father initiated a lawsuit against the U.S. government with the ACLU, challenging its order to kill Al-Awlaki.[38] Al-Awlaki is believed to be in hiding in Yemen.

THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS WIN THE 2010 WORLD SERIES 3-1
The San Francisco Giants beat the Texas Rangers, 3-1, in World Series Game 5 to win their first championship since 1954, when the Giants still played in New York.
Giants closer Brian Wilson threw a scoreless ninth inning against the Rangers to preserve San Francisco's win, which came on eight innings of outstanding pitching by starter Tim Lincecum and a three-run home run by Edgar Renteria in the seventh inning.
The ninth inning included Texas slugger Josh Hamilton taking a called third strike from Wilson.
The Giants won the first two games at AT&T Park in San Francisco and then won two of three games at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas.

Randy Moss Gets The Boot? WTF
Randy Moss was waived by the Vikings on Monday just weeks after Minnesota traded a third-round draft pick to the New England Patriots for the receiver.
Vikings players said Monday that coach Brad Childress told them that Moss "is no longer with us."
Linebacker Ben Leber told the Star Tribune that Childress didn't give the team a reason for Moss' ouster from Minnesota.
"No reason, really, [he] just wanted to give everybody a heads-up and say this is what's going on, and that's it," Leber told the newspaper. "He didn't really dive into any details, and just said that's what were going to go with."
Moss will be on waivers for the next 24 hours. The Patriots, who own the NFL's best record, would only have a chance to claim Moss if the NFL's other 31 teams pass. If Moss isn't claimed he will be free to sign with any team.
Moss' exit from Minnesota was first reported by the NFL Network.
Following the Vikings' 28-18 loss to the Patriots, the Vikings receiver announced that he would not be answering any more questions from the media for the rest of the season.
He also criticized the Vikings for not heeding his advice on certain plays the Patriots were likely to use against the Vikings.
On Monday, Childress disagreed with Moss' asertion that the Vikings ignored the receiver's advice.
"I think we did a pretty good job of heeding it, both offensively and defensively," Childress said, according to the Star Tribune. "He gave us some windows into how we thought they would end up playing. That's obviously in his eyes."
Moss had not spoken to reporters since Oct. 13, taking a $25,000 fine from the NFL for failing to cooperate with the media. The money didn't sway him to open up last week in the days leading up to his return to New England, which traded him to the Vikings on Oct. 6.
"I got fined $25,000 for not speaking to you all. Me, personally, I really don't care," Moss said. "But at the same time, I do answer questions throughout the week. For the league to fine me $25,000, I'm not going to answer any more questions for the rest of this year. If it's going to be an interview, I'm going to conduct [it]. ... I'll ask myself the questions, then give y'all the answers. So from here on out, I'm not answering any more questions for the rest of this season."
In four games with the Vikings, Moss had 13 receptions for 174 yards and two touchdowns. The Vikings were 1-3 in those games, including Sunday's 28-18 loss at New England.

DO PEOPLE CARE ABOUT HIGH RENT
It seems like the fire that Jimmy Mcmillan lit at the New York Governor debate at Hofstra University a few weeks ago has died out. Or has it? Not to take anything away from this movement, but this is the perfect example of people living for the moment. The concerns that Mr. Mcmillan expressed seems relevant to all renters of New York state, but where is the support that his voice needs? The voters have the power, but sometimes allow the influence of the media to control it. On tuesday November 2nd, the people of New York state have the opportunity to make a transition by voting for an honest voice. We will see what the outcome brings. Let's see if New York is going to vote for appearance , or standards and quality.

SANITY OR UNITY RESTORED?
Whatever the mission was on saturday at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., it was a success. Over 200,000 people attended the rally to unite, and reflect on like minded views. In this current state that the United States is in, the rally was a breathe of fresh air. The supporters were treated to several musical acts. The Woodstock style rally minus the drugs and other unmentionables went off without any hardship. Stewart and Colbert conducted themselves as generals leading the charge to a new America. Finally someone has figured out what this country needs. It's not to vote in one side, and kick out the other, no it's to work together, and have a good time.
