R&B singer/songwriter K. Michelle says things between her and Memphitz became extremely violent up to the point where he threatened to kill her child.
"It got really crazy," K. Michelle says of a fight she had with Memphitz where she alleges he struck her and tried to suffocate her with a towel. "I started telling my story because you're (Memphitz) still sending me text messages. He even threatened to kill my son. He was crazy. He would spaz out."
According to the "When Crying Is Easy" singer things really turned crazy when R. Kelly heard about what happened and decided to have her join him on tour. Claiming Kelly is very much still a mentor of sorts, she says Memphitz thought he was losing control of her as a manager to Kelly and became jealous.
"R. Kelly heard what happened. He called and said you're going on tour with me," K. Michelle told Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club Monday. "He said hell no, I said you're going to let me go to R. Kelly and leave me alone."
In the end, K. Michelle kept every threatening text message and communication she could and ended up getting out of her record deal with Jive Records because of that proof. That proof also ended Memphitz's relationship with the label.
"I kept every text message," she said. "They let him go. They kept me. I got out of everything from those text messages."
As widely reported earlier this Summer, K. Michelle referenced a past boyfriend who managed her career on "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta." Shortly thereafter Memphitz implicated himself, claiming he "made" K. Michelle and she would be nowhere without him. As for filing charges, K. Michelle ended up saying she didn't press charges because she "loved" Memphitz and didn't want to destroy his life.
While it has not yet been seen, sources say Memphitz appears on the "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" reunion show to address K. Michelle.
"Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. on VH1.
